Questions and Answers about Computer Dust Brush

Can you use a vaccum cleaner and the brush connection to clean the dust from the inside of a computer?

Question: or will it damage the computer or suck up tiny parts?

Answer: I use a vaccum pretty regularly when cleaning up my PC.

However I wouldn't recommend using the brush adapter as the bristles could easily get caught in components (soldered joints especially)

I have used a toothbrush to gently dislodge stubborn "bits"but

best not to use the brush
you may hit something
just use the thin pipe end for suction of the vacuum
makr sure clean ventilation holes to prevent poor ventilation and overheating of the computer
( dog hair can cause trouble)

Tricks to keep dust off sensor, spots off your photographs

One of the great things about the price of SLR (single-lens reflex) cameras coming down is that more people are buying them and expanding their photography.

The ability to switch from a wide-angle lens to a longer one or a macro lens can bring out the creative juices and stop you from getting bored with shooting the same style all the time.

But changing lenses frequently is not without its problems.

If you notice lots of little black spots in the sky areas of your camera and they are not distant birds or close-ups of black flies, your sensor may be getting dusty. You may also see squiggly lines or unknown greebies, and these will create problems when you decide to print or publish your photos.

In the old days (sonny), we could run a soft brush over the negative or blow on it or rub a little finger grease on it to take care of the dust. Now, we need to spend lots of time on a computer finding the spots and getting rid of them.

Personally, I like to spend more time behind my camera than in front of a screen, so I try to keep the dust from getting on the sensor in the first place.
